How Pomodoro Technique Works

The Pomodoro Timer implements the Pomodoro Technique, a time management method that uses timed intervals of focused work followed by short breaks. After a set number of work sessions, a longer break is taken.

Formula

Default cycle: 25 min work + 5 min break (repeat 4x) + 15 min long break

Key Features

  • Configurable work and break durations
  • Long break after configurable number of sessions
  • Visual progress bar
  • Session counter
  • Start, pause, and reset controls

Pro Tip

The standard Pomodoro Technique uses 25-minute work sessions with 5-minute breaks, and a 15-minute long break every 4 sessions. Adjust these to find what works best for your focus style.
